How this Website Works

This collection of readings consists of essays, articles, stories, poems, and images of culture which reflect how the frameworks by which people know the world, themselves, and others are constructed, modified, and reinforced.  The collection also illustrates how individuals survive and communities unite in times of upheaval and rapid change.

How to study for this course?
Please visit all the units, click on all the links, and familiarize yourself with all the material.

Pick 4 of the 10 units that really appeal to you and do the required work for only those 4 units.

After you have taken a look at the sites, pick at least two readings from each unit to read in-depth.  Please keep an open mind, and think about how you respond to the ideas presented.  Do you agree?  Disagree?
