English translations come to be preferred over the original language versions

Literature sites and Virtual Libraries:  English translations and texts written in English as the original language predominate, not only due to demand, but also due to technical constraints, such as font compatibility.  There is little or no questioning of the integrity of the text and/or of the translation (if translated into English).  For example, many of the entities that will either host the material or provide a link to the text only care about whether or not the person e-mailing the text or the link is the copyright holder.
